Strength And Endurance Tennis Workout

Nowadays top players spend a good portion of their training time on fitness.  There’s no doubt about it, that recreational club players can benefit tremendously as well, from spending more time with off court training.  Here at the Consistent Tennis Wins Academy I cover all bases, cardio, flexibility, on court tennis specific drills (footwork), strength and endurance.  

Many players seem to have a tough time keeping up with a regular consistent tennis specific workout routine.  Through the years I finally discovered why players have this problem.  Basically, it boils down to energy, if you have NO gas in the tank, it’s impossible to keep up a regular routine.  I know this from first hand experience, I was one of those players. After playing and coaching, the last thing I wanted to do was work on my fitness, I was out of gas.  However, the players who do not work on their fitness are at a disadvantage compared to those who do work on it.

To make a long story short I found out the missing link for consistent training. The missing link for me was nutrition, once I changed my eating habits, my energy levels started to increase and MY RECOVERY after workouts improved tremendously.  I finally started to look forward to off court training and actually did not feel right if I didn’t get it in.  Bottom line is this, the more you increase your off court workouts per week, the better player you will become.
